Updates from the Frankly Team
Hi all,
We’re excited to share our monthly updates on Frankly, a project out of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School. Frankly is an open-source platform that reimagines digital space for public discourse.
We’re glad to have you here, and we’ll do our best to keep these emails worth opening. You can always update your preferences or unsubscribe from this list (if you must!).
If you have any questions, you can explore the Frankly Help Center or email hello@frankly.org to reach us directly.
Monthly Highlights
In June, Frankly saw our biggest month yet for open-source contributors!
Collaborators from around the world jumped in — adding email verification to get Frankly ready for broader professional use, continuing internationalization work with our friends at vTaiwan, and building configuration support for a European deployment alongside our partners at Dembrane. Watching the open-source community grow like this is exactly what we hoped for when we opened Frankly up.
On the product side, the team shipped a range of improvements to make Frankly more secure, more reliable, and ready for a wider audience — strengthening security following external reviews, correcting data and reporting details, and doing behind-the-scenes work to make self-hosting easier. A few larger features are close behind, including smoother event wrap-ups, a camera preview before you join a conversation, and better tools for managing membership requests.
As we head toward open beta, it all adds up to a stronger, steadier Frankly.
